Corrections and editorial

Spotted an error in an article, advisory or news post? Tell us the page and what is wrong. We correct openly: material corrections carry a dated note explaining what changed.

Before you write

A few answers that save everyone time.

How quickly will I get a reply?

Most messages get a reply within three business days. Security reports and privacy requests are prioritised. If a fortnight passes with no response, resend to [email protected]: occasionally legitimate mail is caught by filtering.

Will you review my product, or publish a sponsored article?

No. CyberDilmeth does not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, affiliate reviews, or guest articles submitted for the purpose of acquiring a backlink. Our editorial value rests on being evidence-based and expert-reviewed, and that is not something we sell. Genuine contributions from named practitioners are welcome through [email protected], and they go through the same review process as everything else.

Can you help me with an incident happening right now?

We are a knowledge platform, not an incident response service, and we cannot take on live incidents. If you are dealing with an active compromise, contact your IT or security provider first, then your national CERT or CSIRT, and preserve logs and evidence before rebuilding anything. If money has been taken, tell your bank and your local police as well. Our articles cover the groundwork, but they are not a substitute for someone who can look at your systems.

Can you give me personal advice on my situation?

We cannot offer one-to-one consulting, audits, or tailored legal or technical advice, and nothing we publish should be read as such. What we can do is point you at the right explainer or tool, and take note of gaps in our coverage. If a question comes up often enough, it usually becomes an article.

I found a mistake in an article. What happens next?

Send the page address and a short description of the problem to [email protected]. A reviewer who did not write the piece checks it against the primary sources. Typographical fixes are made quietly; anything that changes the meaning gets a dated correction note on the page saying what changed and why. We do not silently delete or rewrite published work.

What do you do with the details I send?

We use them to answer you, and for nothing else. We do not add correspondents to the newsletter, and we do not sell, rent or share contact details. Message records are kept only as long as they are needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up. The detail, including the legal bases we rely on and how to exercise your rights, is in the Privacy Policy.
